What is Body-Mind Centering®?

Body-Mind Centering® is an experiential study of the body, movement, and consciousness founded by Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, with a broad spectrum of applications: dance, yoga, physical therapy, occupational therapy, bodywork, visual art, and more.

With embodiment at its heart, anatomy, physiology, embryology, and developmental movement are explored through movement, touch, voice, breath, and consciousness.

This is a creative practice, one of curiosity, improvisation, and exploration, that invites discovery and embodiment of innate wisdom and organization within, and builds our capacity to trust and listen to what the body has to say.

BMC® challenges many assumed hierarchies present in the study of the body and movement, expanding perspectives on what is possible to sense, feel, and act from.
